Today, while searching the great interwebs, I discovered this picture:

Which does not look unlike this picture of the tag we found on our building a few weeks ago:

I’m no Nancy Drew, or even Velma Dinkley, but I smell something fishy. I found the color-version of our gorilla (guerilla??) friend over at a favorite site Joy Engine. Scroll down to the entry dated 11/26/07, “Custom Vans by Jolt” and you’ll see what I mean. Possibly our neighbors up the block at the 400 were sweet enough to grace our building with their artwork. Secretly, I’ve wanted to stop by the 400 – a super artistic, highly designed sneaker and graphic tee emporium – for a while now, but wasn’t sure I had the street cred to do so. Maybe now that I’ve found them out, we’ll have a little something to chat about.
Stay tuned….

Aren’t you a little gumshoe. Great work!
Since our landlord owns both buildings I’m sure he’d be interested in your discovery. I bet you can get a great discount on some vintage Air Jordans with this info.
